Barrow Foodbank has an Ulverston section that is based at Bethany and is open for 3 hours on 3 days. Everyone who comes to the foodbank for emergency food needs to have a valid foodbank voucher.
In order to provide the most appropriate help for the circumstances of your situation the foodbank works with local agencies. If they feel you are struggling to put food on the table, they will issue you with a foodbank voucher. If you are in need of a voucher and are not working with any other agency, then phone the Cumbria County Council Welfare Team on 01229 221100 and if you are eligible they will send you a voucher by first class post and you can redeem it at the foodbank.
Once you have been issued with a voucher, you can exchange this for a minimum of three days of emergency food at your nearest foodbank centre - Barrow, Millom or Ulverston.
The foodbank wants to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry, but we need your help to make this happen. Your gift of financial support, time, business partnership and food can make a real difference.
You can drop food off at Bethany during the foodbank opening times 11-1pm on Monday and Thursday.
